Economic policy is the cornerstone of many other policy decisions. For example, economic policy is foreign policy.
Simply stated, it’s time to set a tone that our government must curtail spending. Our national debt is in double digits in the trillions of dollars. This trend has got to stop – not later but now. Debt is a horrendous drain on our economy. It will eventually bleed away our way of life if we don’t stop the recklessness. To put it in personal terms, our national debt takes a toll on our country the same way enormous personal debt takes a toll on individuals struggling to find their way out.
I also believe the essential role of government is to assist the private sector with creating and providing jobs.
